This paper examines the structure of Italian wine imports of the PDO and PGI categories into Russia. The period of consideration is 2012-2020. A preliminary review of the economic situation in Russia and the factors influencing wine imports was carried out. The main tool for analyzing the structure of imports is a shift-share analysis, which allows to assess the dynamics over time by region of wine production and by price range. Based on the results, conclusions are drawn about the leading categories in terms of price and regional characteristics.
