According to several scholars, there is a correlation between being bilingual and creative abilities. According to these theories, bilingualism at an early age would lead to better cognitive functions thanks to the environment in which these children grow up, in particular selective attention and inhibitory control. Through the research of these scholars it is investigated whether and to what extent this correlation exists in children and how much, instead, in adults. Other scholars deny the presence of this relationship and argue that bilingualism involves, in some cases, a cognitive disadvantage.

Abstract
According to several scholars, there is a correlation between being bilingual and creative abilities. According to these theories, bilingualism at an early age would lead to better cognitive functions thanks to the environment in which these children grow up, in particular selective attention and inhibitory control. Through the research of these scholars it is investigated whether and to what extent this correlation exists in children and how much, instead, in adults. Other scholars deny the presence of this relationship and argue that bilingualism involves, in some cases, a cognitive disadvantage.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
