Adolescents are the group most at risk of developing an eating disorder and this is related to different social, psychological and biological factors. Since attachment has an important influence on how young people may cope with changes in adolescence, attachment theory offers a good framework for understanding the family and individual characteristics that contribute to the development of eating disorders in this age group. Starting from the assumption that early relationships may play a relevant role in the development of such pathologies, the research objective is to verify, through the data in the literature, the existence of a possible association between the onset of eating disorders in adolescence and the quality of the attachment bond.

Abstract
Adolescents are the group most at risk of developing an eating disorder and this is related to different social, psychological and biological factors. Since attachment has an important influence on how young people may cope with changes in adolescence, attachment theory offers a good framework for understanding the family and individual characteristics that contribute to the development of eating disorders in this age group. Starting from the assumption that early relationships may play a relevant role in the development of such pathologies, the research objective is to verify, through the data in the literature, the existence of a possible association between the onset of eating disorders in adolescence and the quality of the attachment bond.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
