This dissertation is my own proposal of translation from English to Italian of Sarah Crossan’s Toffee. It aims to explore the challenges and the difficulties that I run into, and solve them, underlining the choices and the decisions taken during the translation process. Throughout the process, several problems came upon: on one hand, the will to remain faithful to the voice of the writer, also regarding the prosody of her text, and on the other hand, dealing with the cultural and linguistic gap in the original English text, making it accessible to an Italian audience. The dissertation will focus on the solutions and the decisions taken, completing the work with the theory of translation.
