Proposta di traduzione di due racconti appartenenti alla raccolta "Contos novos" di Mário de Andrade

The present work proposes a translation from Portuguese to Italian of the following stories: "Vestida de preto"; "O peru de natal". Both stories belong to Mário de Andrade’s posthumous collection "Contos novos", one of the most important Brazilian authors of the twentieth century and one of the founders of modernism. The two stories have the same protagonist, Juca, and both of them talk about love: in the first one is romantic love; in the second one, love for the family. Besides the translation, the present work includes an introduction to the author and the modernist movement, in order to provide a theoretical context to the stories. Finally, there is also an analysis of the translation itself, in which the most important problems encountered during the process of translation are analyzed.

Il presente lavoro propone una traduzione dal portoghese all'italiano dei seguenti racconti: "Vestida de preto"; "O peru de natal". Entrambi appartengono alla raccolta postuma "Contos novos" di Mário de Andrade, uno dei più importanti autori brasiliani del XX secolo e uno dei fondatori del modernismo. I due racconti hanno lo stesso protagonista, Juca, ed in entrambi si parla di amore: nel primo è amore romantico, nel secondo invece, amore per la famiglia. Oltre alla traduzione, il presente lavoro comprende un'introduzione all'autore e al movimento modernista, in modo da fornire un contesto teorico ai racconti. Infine, è presente anche un'analisi della traduzione stessa, in cui vengono analizzati i problemi più importanti riscontrati durante la traduzione.
