The focus of this research was to highlight intercultural differences and similarities in the quality of friendship among young adults. The data collection was run through online questionnaires translated in four languages: Chinese, Italian, Japanese and Korean. Our aim was to see if the number of close friends and the intimacy of relationships was somehow subjected to the cultural group of origin, a particular attention was given to the relationship with older people to analyse the differences in relating to them.
