This thesis aims to explore the relationship (effects/benefits/risks) between mindfulness and the adolescent brain, providing an overview of research conducted both internationally and in Italy. The first section discusses the fundamental concepts of mindfulness. The following section focuses on the adolescent brain, examining the main peculiarities of brain development during this life stage. Subsequently, the impact of mindfulness on the adolescent brain is explored, drawing on recent neuroscience research. The thesis will then explore how such research is applied in educational or therapeutic settings engaging adolescents, providing a comprehensive view of the practical application of mindfulness in different contexts, both internationally and in Italy. A discussion on the possible risks of mindfulness will then be presented, offering an overview of the evidence-based possible risks of applying mindfulness and providing a comprehensive picture of the strengths and limitations of this practice. The conclusion summarises the main findings and emerging points of debate from the research conducted, offering the opportunity to discuss potential future developments of the discipline and its effectiveness in the context of adolescence.

Abstract
The conclusion summarises the main findings and emerging points of debate from the research conducted, offering the opportunity to discuss potential future developments of the discipline and its effectiveness in the context of adolescence.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
