Food fraud, a practice with ancient roots in history, has taken on new dimensions with the modern age. Several scandals in recent decades have highlighted risks to public health and consumer confidence. Although European and national laws have introduced controls and regulations to counter this phenomenon, the complexity of the supply chain and technological innovation continue to present new challenges in this context. Blockchain, originally developed to support the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, has shown potential in ensuring reliability and security in other fields as well. In the food sector, blockchain offers a solution to counter and prevent food fraud by providing transparency, security and decentralization through a distributed and immutable digital ledger. This technology provides complete traceability throughout the entire supply chain, ensuring data integrity and facilitating reliable proof in case of investigations. To fully understand the importance of blockchain in combating fraud, one can take as a case study the company Enismaro, which offers other companies the opportunity to integrate this technology into their supply chain.

Abstract
To fully understand the importance of blockchain in combating fraud, one can take as a case study the company Enismaro, which offers other companies the opportunity to integrate this technology into their supply chain.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
