Crocus sativus L., commonly known as saffron, is the most expensive and controversial spice in the world. In recent years, its production has grown enourmously. It has innumerable uses, from the best known in the kitchen, up to its ever increasing diffusion in the pharmaceutical field, thanks to its many beneficial properties for health. Every year, numerous studies and new fundamental discoveries are carried out on saffron, often revealing that it can promote the healing or improvement of certain pathological situations.
Il Crocus sativus L., comunemente noto come zafferano, è la spezia più costosa e discussa del mondo, che ha visto negli ultimi anni una notevole crescita in termini di produzione e di utilizzo. Ha innumerevoli usi, dal più conosciuto in cucina fino alla sua sempre più crescente diffusione in ambito farmaceutico, grazie alle molteplici proprietà salutistiche. Ogni anno sullo zafferano vengono svolti numerosi studi che talvolta portano a nuove scoperte sulle sue proprietà che possono favorire la guarigione o il miglioramento di determinate situazioni patologiche.
